This course, based on IMO model course 3.09, is designed for government technical officials, particularly ship surveyors, masters, chief officers, chief and second engineers, who are authorized or to be authorized by their relevant Governments to execute port State control in accordance with the relevant provisions of IMO Conventions. The course emphasizes IMO port State control procedures, in order that the participant will be capable of carrying our port State control inspections including verifying the ships’ certificates, ensuring that the ships’ officers are properly certified, and that the safety management system is correctly applied.
